Adjacencies: Past & Present Urban Architecture

Looking north, this present-day photograph shows four buildings that dominate the urban landscape east of 32nd & Market streets to the Schuylkill (left to right):the former D.B. Martin building (1908), Cira Centre (2008), 30th St. Station (1933, now Amtrak & SEPTA), & US Post Office (1935, now IRS). This image shows the split-level structure of the old Martin building, as viewed from the south, with the basement and first floor appearing below street level.
